As part of treating women with sexual dysfunction, a physical exam including vulvoscopy is recommended. While many offices treating women with sexual health issues have a colposcope, few practitioners are trained in examining the external genitalia under magnification, as it is not part of standard training. The purpose of this workshop is to provide attendees with up-to-date knowledge and recommended skills for diagnosing and treating various sexual health problems, including dyspareunia, vulvar dermatoses and various infectious diseases that affect the genitals.
This workshop will give you the opportunity to learn clinical skills used in sexual health practice. Using models, you will practice key steps in vulvoscopy, including learning how to perform a vulvoscopic examination and two different kinds of skin biopsies. In addition, you will learn in detail about management of vulvar dermatologic issues, vaginitis, and critical systematic assessment through the vulvoscope. Finally, to balance your learning experience, you will be exposed to in-office sexual medicine procedures that can be performed under vulvoscopy.
